Christ Church. Lovely.

Kasey Musgrave came to visit Jessalyn and I this past weekend...it was very relaxing and slow paced. We went and toured Christ Church,...where you all must know some of Harry Potter was filmed. Here are a few shots from the day...sorry about the blog neglect...hope you enjoy!!

One of the precious hearts we babysit!

We had QUITE the dance party on thursday night, and I am not exaggerating. High school musical is apparently a very interactive experience when watching with a 3 and 6 year old. It was more than fun.

Im lovin it.

Burger King it was....and quite a glorious occasion. Our first filling meal since we've been here. Friends and family...you don't have to worry anymore...I will survive.

We started class on Monday...

Clearly we started class this week as you can see from my somewhat neglected blog posting.
The beginning of this adventure that we like to call "the week" has consisted of some normal things. A visit to the most incredible book shop, Blackwells (I heard that it has something like 4 miles of shelving??...don't quote me on that). We also ate at On the Hoof, which is the local sandwich shop just down the road on North Parade.
I had my first service experience at St. Aldates helping serve dinner...they also fed me dinner in return which meant my first REAL warm meal since I have been here actually. The meal also included cake...really fantastic cake.

I'm not sure if you have noticed a theme in my blogging yet...I love food.

Ask anyone close to me.

I am in desperate need of some meat, sugar, and fried foods in my life. Our diet here has consisted of literally: bread, cream cheese, cold pasta, chedder cheese, apples, and juice.

I might go ahead and hit up the KFC tomorrow. No one wants to be "that girl" that goes to the American fast food chain to get her fix...but someone has got to do it.

An Oxford Sunday.

Our first Sunday was incredible.
Some of the girls and I walked to grab coffee and breakfast before church at G&D's...not the cheapest, but a fun place with ice cream. Then we walked back and met up with the rest of the group to go to St. Aldate's which was awesome. I really love the church, it is beautiful and a lot like my church from home!!
Then i took the most ridiculously fantastic nap on our window seat...with the cool air coming in from our window...if you haven't experienced a nap like this, i suggest you do.
Those are the highlights besides my first sip of wine at Communion today (disgusting) and I had a hamburger with french fries INSIDE OF IT for dinner...what a great Sunday.

Day Three...and what a day it was.

My "wellies" were complimented on today, thank you very much.

Jessalyn and I went walking this morning to town and did a little shopping, after eating a ham and cheese melt at Coffee Republic. I bought a shirt for a POUND (2 american dollars) and some new brown boots!!
We also decided to make a list of all the things we almost died from today:

Umbrellas
Buses
Baby Strollers
Mom's with baby strollers...I can't remember the other things on the list. Apparently the list wasn't as important as i thought soooo....moving on!

There was ice in my water at the coffee shop today. Fantastic.

Corn Market Street, my fav i think so far.

These are my "wellies"

Taking a walk down Woodstock.

This is the road we take to get to things like the grocery store, the Eagle and Child, the Ashmolean Museum, the covered market, Corn Market (which is the pedestrian street), and so many other things...basicly to down town. It's a fun walk.

And the adventure begins...

WE MADE IT! I wasn't sure that we were going to....specifically that I wasn't going to make it past the border...but alas, here we are! This city is beautiful....and I am completely in love with apple, rasberry, grape juice from Sainsbury's grocery store. What else do I have to tell you...? I am not much of a writer so i hope these blogs aren't too disappointing for you...whoever you are.....probably family, or good friends, or my boyfriend. Whoever you are, thanks for being interested in my life! Here are some photo's of life here...or life as i know it so far...

this is me walking...down Corn market street I think...photo thanks to jess!

Dirty painful heels, and creepy stalker men make for a great photoshoot.

FINALLY a photo shoot with my side kick. It has been entirely too long. This was by far our greatest photography adventure yet. We drove out around Buffalo gap, and while taking pictures of eachother, we turned to find that we had another, shall we say "ameture" photographer behind us taking pictures as well. And no we did NOTTTT give him permission.......he proceeded to get out of his truck, walk over and introduce him self, all while apologizing by saying "...i don't mean ta disturb ya privacy.."
Well you did sir,...you did disturb our privacy.
Very uncomfortable...but i love these pictures all the same and i hope you do too!

all the pictures of myself were taken by JessalynClaire photography...check out her blog.
